Toddler Job

James got his first job to do yesterday and he is learning it very quickly! His job is to help feed the animals and give Cora water.

He is a very good helper and he likes to help take care of his animals… especially the dog and rabbit.

Two more toddler travel ideas

James and I were out and about this afternoon and then Joe. James and I went out this afternoon, so we have had a very exhausting day! Especially for Joe who had to come home and do a 3 plus hour bike ride then too! Now James is heading to bed and I’m finishing up things for the day before Joe gets back… then he and I will have supper and go to bed!

I did manage 2 more quick activities to add to our bags today.

The first is just craft sticks and velcro. They can be used for matching or just building. The second one is a bead board made of cardboard. He can slide the beads around and check out colours and patterns. Easy and cheap and no big deal if they don’t hold up or he hates them!

Finger Puppet Barn

I finally finished James’ finger puppet barn today… took me a lot longer than I expected but I only ended up with one blister burn from the hot glue gun which is good I guess! Definitely did not turn out quite like the pattern, but it still turned out alright I think. This will be one of our car activities in a few weeks so James won’t actually get to play with it for awhile. I’m also going to make a set of dogs and attempt a dog house for them. The animals are all sewn and the barn is a combo of hot glue and sewing.

I did buy the patterns off Etsy, all but the dog house anyways – for that I’m going to try to alter the barn idea a bit on my own. Amazon does have some cheap finger puppets but to buy handmade ones off Etsy it was a lot cheaper to make them myself…I’ll end up with 4 sets of animals/dogs for under $25. It just takes awhile to do!
