CSA Share #3

Today we picked up our third CSA share which is full of super tasty things that we’re looking forward to eating.  Some stuff is familiar and we know how to eat it…other stuff is brand new and will be an adventure to cook 🙂

Included this week…

  • 4 baby bok choi
  • rainbow chard
  • a huge kohlrabi (the yellow/green bulb in the front)
  • lots of green onions
  • cherry tomatoes
  • a green pepper
  • thyme/basil
  • a head of lettuce
  • Braising mix
  • and a whole huge bag of fava beans (which neither of us know how to cook but we will learn!)

As I type Joe is hanging a shelf in the kitchen for our finch cages.  Yes, I said cages…because Ginger turned a bit mean and we had to separate them for the time being! So we have two bird cages that will be on a shelf high enough that the cats and puppy cannot get to them 🙂  Then we’re going to head to the lake to do Joe’s swimming practice and afterwards will come home to cook up some shrimp/bok choi stir-fry that we found in one of our newest cookbooks.  I was excited to find it because I knew we were getting bok choi in our share today and we happen to have some shrimp in the freezer.  Talk about working out good!
