Our Sunday

Today is very similar to yesterday around here.  We are working on gifts and projects, doing a bit of cleaning, and hanging out.  We had pancakes and sausage for breakfast, leftover nachos for lunch and are currently watching the Live Thanksgiving Special on the Food Network. This afternoon we’re going to head into town quick for a few things and then head back here to hang out  and do some more work.

Cora sharing the recliner with me although she eventually moved over to the couch.. Chloe is on the back of the couch near Joe (working with his faceting machine) and Ocean is on the back of the other couch underneath the T.V.

Buddy slept upstairs on the futon for most of the morning and Pinga was in her usually spot on top of all of my craft supplies.

Crafting

Today we spent the day here at home for the most part, we did run to town briefly in the afternoon to pick up a few things but otherwise it was spent here cleaning and working on Christmas presents and hanging out.  I was a big scrooge at the beginning of the month when right after Halloween stores starting nagging us about Christmas with music, displays and bell ringers… I love, love, love Christmas and you’d think I wouldn’t have minded but it just seemed ridiculously early and I refused to partake (listening to Christmas music at work all day every day starting on November 1st is just too much!) but now that it is closer to Thanksgiving I’ve started to get more in the Christmas spirit and we’ve starting making and picking out gifts and planning for the Holidays… although I refuse to buy much in the way of decorations or donate to any bell ringers until after Thanksgiving.

I can’t share gifts on my blog yet for obvious reasons but after Christmas I will post about the things we’ve made.  For now you can see our disaster of a dining room table.  Craft supplies all over the place, although I broke my sewing machine so that put a damper on some of my plans until I get it fixed, our wireless printer that Joe finally got to work wirelessly (it was a pain to get to work because of our router I think…) which is great and I can print from wherever I am in the house and if you noticed…yes we do have a random rifle on the table too.  That is Joe’s newest gun, a 1943 Russian Mosen.  We may hang it in the kitchen

Almost-Finished Sunroom

I finished painting our sunroom last week and I have been meaning to sew curtains so I’ve been putting off posting pictures in hopes that I would have a finished room, but I have no idea when I will actually sew the curtains so I give up and will call it mostly done and good enough for now!

All of the craft tubs are gone from the room and the only things left are the futon/table, two of our looms, our spinning wheel and our yarn shelves.  So it looks a lot better and less cluttered than it did before with a whole bunch of random boxes and tupperware tubs in there.  It is sort of a relaxing nap room when the weather is cool and we could use it as a weaving room if we wanted to as well but otherwise it is just a nice place to store our looms where they are out of the way and won’t get damaged.

Along the wall just inside the door.  The loom on our left is a tapestry loom and on the right is a table loom with it’s new stand.  The stand that Joe made for it originally has become a stand for the faceting machine instead

Next to the looms is our spinning wheel and our bins full of yarn.  On top there are some project buckets (they used to be make-shift chicken nest boxes) and some warping yarn and a ball of wool to be spun.

On the other side of the room there is the futon with blankets and pillows for whoever needs to take a nap! Buddy especially loves to nap in here and Chloe will occasionally sleep here too.  On cooler days I love naps here too but on hot, sunny days it is too warm.
