Tuna Barley Casserole

Tonight I thought I would make something way different so I found a recipe for Tuna Barley casserole.  I thought it might be good, it had dill and Worcestershire sauce in it along with tuna and barley, a little egg etc.  Too bad it wasn’t good!  I ended up dousing mine in soy sauce while Joe covered his in hot sauce.  Then it was a bit better :-)   It wasn’t that it was so bad, but the few spices the recipe had weren’t enough and it was incredibly bland.  There were no veggies in it or anything else to make it taste more interesting.  So, we ate it, but I don’t think I will be making it again!

We did have some salad with  it.. it had tomato, yellow pepper and carrot on it and that was alright.  Tomatoes are growing on me the more I have them.  I still don’t want a huge tomato on a sandwich, let alone a plain tomato just to eat, but little cherry tomatoes are becoming reasonable little things to eat.  I even took some in my veggies and ranch the other day and dipped them and ate them just like that.

Our New Bed!

Our new kin-sized bed frame came today and after work we put it together! Mostly I sat on the floor keeping Joe company with Buddy, Cora and Chloe while Joe put the bed together for us.  I did hand him screws a couple of times but that is about it :-)

Joe picked out the frame all by himself, I didn’t see it until it got here, but I think he did a good job and it looks great in our room!  It is a brushed steel bed, pretty much black but not super shiny.  It matches the tables that I painted black last year.

It even has a footboard, and it takes up almost our whole bedroom although there is still enough room for the dogs and for Joe to walk around the bed to get to his spot because he sleeps closer to the far wall (and the air conditioner in the summer which works perfectly!).

Before we finished making the bed for my pictures we all had to lay in it and relax.  Joe boosted Buddy up and he promptly sat himself in the middle, took advantage of Joe’s pillow, and didn’t want to get off when we told him he had to move now!

Plowing us out

Joe came home today just in time to go to an eye appointment with me and then he had to come home and plow all of the snow we got over the weekend.  It took a few hours to get it all, longer than normal!

This is what we woke up to.  The snow kept coming and we had to remake our trails again the morning.  I usually take Cora out first so she made a trail and Buddy had a bit easier time when he went out second.

My car again… so much snow piled on top I had to use a shovel to push it off the top and some of it was so heavy it fell off the front on it’s own!  This was definitely one of the larger storms of the year.
